Margin Center is an artist-founded foundation, publishing platform, and evolving archive based in Warsaw. It began as an online space for work that needed more time, context, and room than dominant digital formats could offer.
Today, it moves between publishing, artistic production, public programmes, and archiving. The website remains a space for essays, conversations, documentation, research, and work in progress. In 2026, Margin Center became a foundation, giving the project a formal structure without fixing its form.

An empty room is not a lack. It is a bare structure. A space in which there is no default backing, but in which a clear voice can finally be heard. Redefining Virginia Woolf's historical concept of “a room of one's own” for the contemporary landscape of precarity, systemic instability, and radical queer subjectivity, this manifesto treats displacement not as a site of passive exclusion, but as a tactical vantage point.
In the empty room, we strip away institutional validation, administrative compliance, and simplified visibilities. We tune our voices not to the acoustics of dominant stages, but to the resonance of raw survival. The empty room is a space of radical honesty, where the margins cease to be a boundary and become the primary center of sense production.
